Scoring
Why don’t I have access to a progress report?
Progress reports become available after you’ve answered questions to provide meaningful insights.
When do I get a summative (pass/fail) score?
You will receive your summative (pass/fail) score after completing the 3-month assessment cycle with Data Abstractor Academy. Throughout the cycle, you’ll receive ongoing feedback on your performance relative to our internal competency standards through the platform.
What happens if my score is below the passing score?
If you don’t meet the passing score, it won’t impact your standing with Data Abstractor Academy directly. However, to maintain your internal competency status, you’ll need to complete an alternative assessment, such as a comprehensive review, within the next 3-month period.
Security
Why is this assessment secure?
The Data Abstractor Academy assessment includes a pass/fail outcome tied to internal competency evaluation, requiring security measures to protect its integrity and ensure fair evaluation of data abstraction skills within our learning environment.
Why can’t I share assessment questions with my colleagues or take a screen grab?
By participating, you agree not to copy, reproduce, disclose, or transmit any part of the assessment, before or after completion, by any means. This includes not reconstructing content from memory or discussing it with others, ensuring the assessment remains a reliable tool for internal use.
Test Features & Resources
What are the key features of the test?
- Strike-out: Use the strikeout tool to line through answer choices. You can strike out multiple options or none, and undo by selecting the tool again.
- Media: Some questions include images, audio, or video.
- Question Information: Correct answers, rationales, and references are provided after submission for most questions.
- Scrolling: Use vertical or horizontal scroll bars for longer questions.
- Font Size: Adjust with shortcuts (Windows: “Control & +” / “Control & -”; Mac: “Command & +” / “Command & -”).
- Fullscreen: Toggle fullscreen to focus on the question.
- Zoom: Zoom media with the Zoom button.
- Highlight: Highlight question text with your cursor; click again to undo.
Media Player: Open media in a pop-up window, movable to view alongside text, with tabs for multiple media files.
How does the time bank work and when should I use it?
You have five minutes per question, plus a 10-minute time bank over the cycle for extra time as needed. This reflects real-world abstraction time constraints and supports thorough responses when referencing resources.
What happens if I run out of time answering a question?
If time expires before selecting an answer, the question is marked incorrect, followed by a survey and feedback. If you select an answer but don’t submit before time runs out, your choice is recorded.
